Double dose of Dauphin events
Over 300 vintage vehicles are on display at the 11th annual Crusin Dauphin event which taking place on Saturday and Sunday at the fairgrounds in town. Spokesperson John Boyd says a monster truck demonstration is also on tap.
Three-vehicle pileup in Brandon
There was a three vehicle accident on the corner of 1st street and the Trans Canada Highway on Friday. Five people were involved with one being sent to hospital with minor injuries. It's believed the front vehicle may have been cut off causing the pileup. The investigation continues.


Two-vehicle accident in Brandon
A taxi-van flipped on its roof following a two-vehicle accident at the corner of 13th and Van Horne on Friday afternoon around 2:30. Police say one of the vehicles went through a stop sign, however there were no major injuries.

The creepy crawlies
Bed bug numbers are on the rise. Toronto, Ottawa, New York City and even parts of Australia are having problems and so is Brandon. Poulin's Pest Control manager David Lane says they've been busy battling the bug.
Summer sendoff
Campers and cottage goers are taking one final kick at summer at Riding Mountain National Park this long weekend. Spokesperson Richard Dupuis says they're expecting plenty of visitors.
The final count is in
Students are heading back to class well prepared. The final count is in from the Brandon and District United Way who collected supplies to help out out over 760 kids. The supplies were dropped off at schools on Friday with kids heading back to class next week. Spokesperson Debbie Arsenault says the Tools for Schools campaign lends a helping hand.
Rollover near Virden
A Virden man is now awaiting a court date after a single vehicle rollover early this morning. Around 3, the 23 year old failed to make a turn on a gravel road, went off the road, and overturned several times. He was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Three other passengers, 2 males and 1 female, as well as the driver, suffered only minor injuries. The driver will be in court October 15.
Suicide Prevention Sessions Coming
Suicide affects over 4,000 Canadians each year.
That's why the Suicide Prevention Implementation Network is hosting a number of activities on suicide prevention.
Spokesperson Janet Smith says it's important everyone is aware of the condition.
Fire Hall move complete
The move is now complete.
Brandon Fire and Emergency Personnel bid one last fairwell to Fire Hall #1 on Princess Avenue Thursday afternoon.
After weeks of moving everything from hoses to paperwork, they are now settled into their new $11 million fire hall at the corner of 19th Street North and Maple Avenue.
An open house will take place on September 8th from 1p.m. to 5p.m.
Brandon schools spruced up
Students heading back to class at Greens Acres will be impressed with what they see.The roof at the school was replaced following a 1.5 million dollar project that started last spring. Secretary-Treasurer of the Brandon Division Gerald Barnes says a lot of work was done.
